Masked Denial
This piece began as a short film about a chef losing his sense of taste. It portrayed him as an overly confident man who thought he could defy the odds no matter what they were. When the story began taking shape though it didn't feel like that's what his character was meant to be. After further discussion the piece was shortened into something more akin to a character study still reflecting on covid-19 and what it means to be against masks and vaccines in our current world, but it turned into a a piece that felt more based in regret and what could have been prevented.
